Initiative¶
Initiative is the measure of how quickly a character can react in combat. It determines the order of actions in combat rounds, with higher initiative values allowing characters to act before those with lower values.
Derived Base Value¶
The initiative base value is derived from the character's attributes and skills, calculated using the following formula:
Example Calculation
Consider a character with the following attributes and skills:
- Timing: 10
- Insight: 8
- Recon: 2
- Tactics: 4
The initiative base value would be calculated as follows:
Character Modifier¶
Additionally, each character has an initiative modifier that can range from 0 to 6, which is added to the initiative base value to determine the final initiative score.
Example Calculation
Using the previous example, if the character has an initiative modifier of 2, the final initiative would be calculated as follows:
