Pricing Framework Consistency

To ensure the consistency and reliability of the pricing framework, we have established a set of plausibility checks and guidelines that can be automatically checked for our price reference table. These checks help maintain a coherent economic system within the campaign and prevent outliers or inconsistencies in pricing decisions.

Plausibility Checks

The following checks will be implemented through automated scripts to validate the prices in our reference table:

Check Description
Relative Value Check Ensure that prices are consistent with the relative value of items and services. For example, a Tier II starship should always be priced higher than a Tier I starship, and a Tier III meal should be more expensive than a Tier II meal.
Wealth Class Consistency Verify that prices align with the economic classes defined in the context section. For instance, a price that is affordable for the working class should not exceed their typical daily income by an unreasonable margin.
Wealth Class Living Costs Ensure that the prices of essential goods and services (e.g., meals, lodging) are consistent with the living costs for different wealth classes. For example, a 7x Tier II meals should be affordable for the working class per week, while a Tier IV meal should be more in line with the middle class or wealthy.
Category-Specific Checks Implement category-specific checks to ensure that items within the same category are priced consistently. For example, all Tier II meals should fall within a certain price range, and all Tier III starships should be priced within a specific range based on their features and quality.
